Monument restoration repair historic buildings and national landmarks

Providing ancient monument restoration and national landmark conservation throughout the UK

Sir William Wilberforce

Many ancient national landmarks and tourist attractions have been restored or preserved by experts at Stone Technical Services.

Our own craftsmen carry out the conservation and restoration of building fabric and structures sympathetically and efficiently and using traditional methods in conjunction with organisations such as the National Trust and English Heritage and architects, surveyors, facility services companies and DACs

Recent examples include: -

  • Thomas a Beckett, Heptonstall, Calderdale- removal of overgrown vegetation and consolidation of masonry
  • Wainhouse Tower, Halifax- an award-winning project which saw Stone carry out conservation work and the restoration of masonry on the carved upper tower ornate stone as well as the lime mortar pointing of the structure, the design of stainless steel flashings to form rainwater gullies, specialist masonry repairs including the renewal of the upper viewing platform, lime mortar repointing, the fitting of new window guards, the installation of a specialist rainwater system and storm gullies and the replacement of specialist lead and stainless steel.
  • Lindisfarne- conditional survey of the area, also known as Holy Island, and inspection of the steep cliff faces. In addition, Stone Technical Services also removed overgrown vegetation. This project was in association with the National Trust.
