Winter weather creates jobs for Darlington business
Stone Technical Services has added another member to its growing team as it secures major new contracts because of the wintry weather.
Jason Holden, from Middlesbrough, has been appointed as lightning protection engineer and will work on location with Stone's technical team, installing and testing lightning protection systems on a range of buildings and structures all over the UK.
Jason is highly qualified and experienced, having worked in the sector for over 20 years for organisations such as the MOD and the Prison Service. His qualifications include, amongst others, City and Guilds Level 3 in electro-technical technology and City and Guilds in IEE wiring regulations, which is the recognised industry standard for all installation electricians.
As a result of the icy weather at the end of 2010 and damaging winds at the start of this year, Stone Technical Services has won a number of new contracts with organisations including Gentoo Sunderland, Durham County Council, Essex-based Swan Housing Group and the University of York.
As well as lightning protection and installation services, Stone specialises in all aspects of high level and general maintenance, steeplejack services and restoration and masonry refurbishment projects on churches, museums, clock towers, castles, spires and historic buildings.
The company now has a team of 28 at its headquarters in Darlington and also at its offices in Middlesex and central London.
Stone is nationally-recognised as a leader in its field and has completed a wide range of projects for buildings such as Westminster Abbey and St. Paul's Cathedral and for organisations such as Gentoo, English Heritage and local councils as well as for well known industrial clients such as INEOS Plant Utilities and Teesside Power Station.
